Until you have that dream yard, or your arthritis goes away...
Container gardening has become a great trend for traditionally non gardening Americans. Here

are some pointers:
*Choose a good sized container to provide good root growth and prevent your plants from tumbling over.
*When planting tomatoes, choose varieties for containers such as patio or husky red. These plants have been bred to remain short and compact, perfect for small spaces. Provide a cage or stake for your tomato plant.
*When planing in the garden, fertilizing is done a few times a season. Containers allow nutrients to wash through the soil during watering. Be sure to water with liquid fertilizer weekly.
*Using fertilizers with micro nutrients also helps as potting soil does not contain necessary nutrients such as iron, calcium etc like normal soil does.
*Crops such as lettuce, potatoes, carrots, Tomatoes, Onions, and Herbs can all perform well in containers, but even peppers can be successful with the right care. (A salsa container of Cilantro, tomato, bell pepper, and onion is a great option. Just add lime juice, salt, pepper and blend.
